Senior Windows System Administrator

UnityWorks Media is looking for a Senior Windows System Administrator to join their Bloomington team!

Position Overview:

As a Windows Administrator, you will plan, design, implement and maintain UnityWorks' Windows, Storage and Virtual infrastructure according to best practices, while providing high levels of reliability and availability.  Get your hands in a little of everything while you ensure consistent storage and VM provisioning, uptime, regulatory compliance and Windows system security.  You will be responsible for the management and control of all Corporate and Production information storage devices and space, VM's and supporting infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead in the areas of Microsoft, virtualization and storage technologies and products, providing subject matter expertise and operations experience
  • Perform installations, maintenance & upgrades; monitor, troubleshoot, administer & tune operating system and infrastructure hardware
  • Manage the installation and configuration of new and existing virtualization and storage hardware
  • Analyze storage systems performance and capacity requirements
  • Manage the implementation and use of backup and recovery products & tools
  • Plan and Implement server and desktop security, anti-virus/anti-spyware
  • Support production services available 24/7 and be on call with other administrators



  • 7+ years of relevant experience with Microsoft and SAN architecture design techniques, theories, principles and best practices
  • Solid experience architecting enterprise storage & backup and DRP solutions
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft technology implementation, configuration and support including Active Directory, MSMQ, DFS, IIS and related services
  • Design and management experience with VMware/HyperV and related products
  • Excellent knowledge of SAN, NAS, DAS, RAID, SCSI, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, clustering, encryption and related products
  • Familiarity with mainstream cloud offerings from Microsoft, Amazon, etc
  • Previous exposure to working in a distributed team, an asset
